About

Isabella has written three large collections of poetry, including a dissertation mentioned below, which is currently being published. The main themes include, but are not limited to, the female self, the female collection, the female body and voice, the natural world, the expression of pain, sex/sexuality or eros, and blank space. Isabella's most recent body of work is a dissertation for an MA in English & Creative Writing for the University of Dundee. The portfolio contained an exploration of the vegetal world and an exploration of not only the physical body of woman, but the voices that echo through the nature around us. The work contains thirty pages of poetry, alongside a hybrid-prose-poetry framing essay echoing the voices found within the poems. Isabella says, "I place a high focus on the way that nature is expressed through my poetry, but also in the spaces which surround the words written on the page. I not only expressed the natural world around me and the relation to the female body and voice to nature, but also the exploration of my own self and what nature means to me, personally. I am currently looking to lean more into typography, and develop my haiku into haibun, amongst other pursuits."

Connection to Glasgow

Isabella spends half the week in Glasgow for friends and work. There are plans to move to Glasgow Southside in 2025. Isabella says, "I enjoy going to social events in the city, gigs, mic nights, etc."
