Mandy Beattie is a feminist, former social worker, and academic with an MA in Social Work Research & Practice. Her poetry’s widely published in journals such as: Poets Republic; Drawn to The Light; Verse-Virtual; Lothlorien Poetry Journal; Ink, Sweat & Tears; Dreich; WordPeace; Visual Verse; Wildfire Words; Word Gathering; Spilling Cocoa by Martin Amis; Last Stanza; The Clearance Collection; The Haar; Purple Hermit; Crowstep; Spoonie; Abridged; The Pen Points North; Full House Literary; Five Words, Volume XVI Anthology; Morecambe Festival Anthology; Glisk & Glimmer Anthology; Advent With Annick; Poetry Super Highway; Alien Buddha Press; and more. She was shortlisted for: Black Box Competition, 10th International Five Words Competition; Creative Future’s Award 2023; and Best of The Net nominee 2024. Connection to Glasgow
After WW1 Mandy's great grandfather walked barefoot, with trench foot, from Glasgow to his home in Caithness . Mandy loves the nature & nurture of Glasgow, and of course the banter.
