Stuart Paterson

About

Stuart is an award-winning poet and performer in his native Scots & English. An author of many poetry collections and inclusive activities, he positively and creatively supports and engages people from all age ranges and communities throughout Scotland to express themselves. In 2017-18 he was BBC Scotland Poet in Residence and his poems have been commissioned by and performed on BBC2, BBC Radio 4, BBC Ulster, the Scottish Parliament and HMP Barlinnie. In 2017-18 he was BBC Scotland Poet in Residence & he has written nationally commissioned poems for Lidl UK, Scottish Water and The Nevis Ensemble (‘Scotland’s Street Orchestra’). In 2020 he was nationally voted ‘Scots Language Writer of the Year’.

Connection to Glasgow

Stuart Paterson was born and bred in Kilmarnock, but I grew up with Glasgow as a second home just up the road and have a lot of connections and links to the whole city.
