Taylor Strickland

About

A poet and translator from the US, Taylor Strickland works in English, and translates from Gàidhlig. He is the author of Commonplace Book, and Dastram/Delirium, a PBS Translation Choice. His work has also appeared in Poetry Wales, Gutter, Poetry Northwest, New Statesman, TLS, Poetry Review, and elsewhere. His poem ‘The Low Road’ was adapted by American composer Andrew Kohn, and performed in Orkney. Another poem ‘Nine Whales, Tiree’ is undergoing adaptation for film with filmmaker Olivia Booker and composer Fee Blumenthaler. With an MLitt from St Andrews, he is currently a doctoral candidate in literary translation at the University of Glasgow. Taylor Strickland is presently working on the poetry of Alasdair mac Mhaighstir Alasdair.
